Akbar Khan to be sued for using animals in Taj Mahal

First it was Shahrukh Khan for Paheli, then Soham Shah for Kaal and now it’s Akbar Khan for Taj Mahal. Do you get the connection? All of them were charged against ill-treating animals while shooting for their film and not going the guidelines set for the same. The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) is upset with Akbar Khan for using animals in his film Taj Mahal without their consent. According to the guidelines set in 2001, an AWBI member has to be present on the sets of the film in which animals are used. However Khan did not bother to inform the AWBI on the same. The board is now planning to take legal action against Khan. It claims that Khan used around 2000 horses, 500 elephants and 500 camels for the film.
However Khan denies that he used such a large number of animals. He clarifies that he had got the animals from the regular film suppliers and had even taken proper care of them while shooting with veterinarian and ambulance services.
Incidentally Akbar’s brother, Feroz Khan faced a similar problem when he used a chimpanzee and an elephant in his last film Janasheen.
