Rajpal Yadav to spoof Abu Salem Click here to add this article to My Clips

By IndiaFM News Bureau, November 30, 2005 - 02:13 IST

Rajpal Yadav has become one of the most popular names when it comes to Bollywood comedians. This time the actor will make you laugh with a spoof item. And the spoof is on no one else but the character of Abu Salem. His performance will be the part of theatre drama called Masti Express that will have around 1000 HIV-affected children participating in it. The event will also have complimentary performances by around 80 TV, film, theatre artists and playback singers.

Writer and film director Sanjay Chhel has scripted the 20-minute skit titled ‘Babbu Salam Namaste’ for Rajpal Yadav. Director Ashok Pandit (Sheen) adds that Rajpal has keenly observed the looks and mannerisms of Salem through his repeated appearances on news channels currently, and has tried to incorporate them in his character.

Ironically Rajpal denies that he is spoofing Salem and claims that if there are any similarities between his character and Salem, it’s completely co-incidental. Incidentally very few might remember that Rajpal had spoofed another popular underworld character Chota Shakeel in his early film Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya as Chota Vakeel.
