Was Karan Johar to produce Home Delivery?

There were recent speculations that Karan Johar was initially going to produce Sujoy Ghosh’s Home Delivery but that was just the result of a journalist working overtime. It is common knowledge now that Karan is doing a cameo appearance in the film as himself (and Vivek Oberoi is a script writer who is hired by Johar). Perhaps this might have led to the rumors. When we contacted Sujoy he promptly said,” Karan was never supposed to produce the film in the first place. As it is, he had a lot of things going on like Kaal and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.” That should set the record straight.
This is the second time that Karan Johar will make an onscreen appearance in any movie. The first one was in the blockbuster hit Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge where he played Shahrukh’s close buddy. Interestingly both were not his productions. And more interestingly, he has never made appearances in any of his home productions.
