RGV to remake James! Click here to add this article to My Clips

By IndiaFM News Bureau, October 10, 2005 - 02:56 IST

When it comes to Ram Gopal Varma you can expect him to come up with the most strangest and weirdest of ideas. First a remake of Sholay, then a sequel to Sarkar and now the filmmaker has announced a remake of his own production James that released barely a couple of months back. This certainly comes as a surprise. One would wonder why anybody would want to remake a film like James that was written off by critics as a disaster. But Varma feels that the film could have been successful. He wants to rectify the mistakes that were made in the film, by directing the remake himself. But at the same time he doesn’t blame the director of the film, Rohit Jugraj for the failure.

The shooting will commence in November and he plans to complete the film by next year. A major reason that led Ramu to remake this film is the terrible reviews that the critics gave the original. James was designed as an action potboiler that neither gained critical acclaim nor commercial success. So this time RGV plans to ‘take care’ of things himself. The remake will star the original cast i.e. Mohit Ahlawat and Nisha Kothari.
