Shah Rukh Khan's public interest campaign Click here to add this article to My Clips

By IndiaFM News Bureau, October 4, 2005 - 05:22 IST

Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in yet another ad. This time it is not a beauty soap or a cola endorsement but a public service ad for polio prevention. This campaign has been shot by the Health Ministry and UNICEF. He will be a part of three messages that will educate the public about child immunization. The state of affairs relating to health is not so good in the country. Only 53% of the children are immune. Considering the craze for Bollywood stars in the country, Shah Rukh is the ideal choice for this campaign.

Khan will appear as different characters in the ads. In the first ad, he plays a co-passenger, driver and conductor, in the second ad he plays a doctor, a wardboy and a compounder and in the last ad he plays a south Indian at a cinema and then a ticket checker. Officials are confident that the presence of Shah Rukh Khan will generate awareness. At least it's a start.
