I am proud of ‘Chocolate’ - Anil Kapoor defends the film Click here to add this article to My Clips

Guess what’s the first thing actor Anil Kapoor, director Vivek Agnihotri and Mumbai distributor Kumar Mangat did soon after the premiere of CHOCOLATE on Thursday, September 15? Instead of heading towards their respective homes, they headed to an editing studio.

“I realized, we needed to trim the film by at least 10-12 minutes,” Anil Kapoor tells me. But the problem was, where does one find a studio at an unearthly hour? And if they do manage one, what’s the guarantee that the editing suite wouldn’t be occupied by another producer?

Well, the trio finally managed to find an editing room and immediately got into the act of chopping off 12 minutes from the film at 6 a.m. on Friday, September 16. “We decided to trim the film before the film could hit the screens at 12 noon,” Anil states.

Meanwhile, Anil continues to defend CHOCOLATE and its director Vivek Agnihotri. “Even when THE USUAL SUSPECTS was released, it was ripped apart by critics in the U.S. It takes time to absorb a film like CHOCOLATE. When I first watched the film, I didn’t like it at all. Yeh kya banaya hain, I asked Vivek. But when I watched it again, it grew on me,” he states.

Anil has decided to do one more film with Agnihotri. “Nothing is decided yet. But I’ve agreed to act in his next film,” the talented actor states.
