By IndiaFM News Bureau, September 13, 2005 - 05:36 IST

Things are looking up for Kareena. The actress has been roped in by Vishal Bharadwaj to play the character of Mrs. Singh in Mr. Mehta and Mrs. Singh. Earlier the makers were considering the likes of Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan for the role. While Rani and Preity had date problems, the makers were not too sure about Vidya suiting the character. The film will be directed by Vishal Bharadwaj who is also producing the film along with UTV. It is based on the relationship a married couple shares over 25 years. There are plans to get the international stylist who designed Russell Crowe’s look in A Beautiful Mind, to design the look of the actors in the film. Both Aamir and Kareena will be shown aging in the film. Shooting for the film will commence in July 2006 in Pondicherry. The duo of Aamir and Kareena are coming together on screen for the first time. This promises to be a treat for the audience.

For Aamir who had been reclusive for four longs years until Mangal Pandey, his fans just have a reason to rejoice with this being the third film in his kitty after Rang De Basanti (releasing in December 2005) and Fanaah (commencing in October 2005).
