RAMJI LONDONWALEY hasn’t worked at the box-office, but director Sanjay Dayma isn’t feeling demoralized. “I gave my best to the film,” he tells me. Madhavan echoes similar sentiments, “Making a film is in our hands, giving it a proper release isn’t our domain.” But Madhavan hasn’t shut his doors to Hindi films. “I am open for qualitative offers. Why not?” the affable actor adds.
Meanwhile, Dayma is all set to start work on his next venture, VIVAAH. “It’s a debate on the institution of marriage. This one follows the Yash Chopra-Karan Johar cinema,” Dayma divulges. Not many are aware that Dayma had narrated the script of VIVAAH to Madhavan almost two-and-a-half years ago, much before RAMJI LONDONWALEY happened. “That’s when we stuck a rapport and decided to work together,” he explains.
Dayma is approaching the script freshly today. “It’s a serious film, a complete departure from the comedy that I just attempted,” he states. But the director is yet to finalize the star cast of the film. “It’s about two boys and a girl and I am keen to cast Hrithik for one of the key characters,” he states.
Meanwhile, Dayma has put the project SARDAR PREETAM SINGH on hold for the time being.
