Manjrekar to start Big Bazaar

One of Bollywood’s busiest directors Mahesh Manjrekar has just completed his latest film Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi with Sanjay Dutt and Shahid Kapur. According to the grapevine Manjrekar is all ready to roll his next film Big Bazaar with the same producer Sangeeta Ahir. The film is based on the life of mill workers in Mumbai who lost their jobs due to commercialization of the mills which were sold to make malls, restaurants, discos, etc. Sangeeta Ahir’s husband is politician Sachin Ahir who is the president of the R.M.M.S. (Rashtriya Mill Mazdoor Sangh). Two huge stars are supposedly approached for the film but nothing is finalized.
Incidentally Manjrekar had added the word Vaah… to his earlier original title Life Ho To Aisi as he did not want any legal hassles with Coca Cola since that was their tagline a few years ago. Earlier Anant Mahadevan faced a similar problem from the Pepsi soft drink company when he titled his movie Dil Maange More that was also the Pepsi tagline.
Let’s hope Manjrekar doesn’t have any problems with Big Bazaar which is a supermarket chain in one of the mills areas.
