More trouble for The Rising Click here to add this article to My Clips

By IndiaFM News Bureau, September 1, 2005 - 06:52 IST

The descendents of Mangal Pandey want to stop the screening of the The Rising. In order to do so, they have filed a petition in the Delhi High Court. Now, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice to Bollywood actors Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee and the producers, director, storywriter and distributor of the film.

There are a couple of reasons due to which Mangal Pandey's family is offended. They do not like they way the character has been presented in the film. Also, they were not happy with the fact that his love interest in the film is a prostitute, played by Rani Mukherjee. The producers already have enough trouble, with the film not living up to the sky high expectations of the people. The last thing they need is legal trouble!
