CID’s ACP turns broadcast journalist

Television serial CID’s ACP Ajatashatru (Anoop Soni) is now set to play a broadcast journalist in Prakash Jha’s Apharan. The role is that of Akash Ranjan, a reporter from Aaj Tak news channel. He is an honest and hardworking person. He would never be calculative and cunning to get a story. According to Soni, the fact that the character is on screen all through the movie, shows his importance. Soni and Jha had come together earlier for ‘Gangaajal’. The film is due to release during Diwali.
In the recent past, there have many actors playing media reporters including Konkana Sen Sharma in Page 3 and Preity Zinta in Lakshya.
