Bobby promotes travel awareness in London

Bobby Deol has become the first Indian actor to support the Mayor of London’s travel awareness initiative, called ‘good going: travel awareness in London’ and chose the London Borough of Harrow as the place to make the announcement.
Bobby was in London recently promoting his new film Barsaat which marks the first Bollywood film tie-in with a Mayor of London scheme. ‘good going’, a Transport for London initiative is aimed at encouraging Londoners to travel by bike, public transport, walking and car sharing in a bid to cut congestion, pollution and improve the air quality in London.
Bobby’s new film is releasing on August 19th and is gaining high-profile publicity in London due to its chart-topping soundtrack and the association with Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London due to it bagging the ‘good going’ promotion.
“Congestion is a real problem in London,” said Bobby Deol, the main actor of Barsaat. “It’s a shame because London’s a really nice city and I love coming here, but congestion on the roads and environmental pollution sometimes hide the vibrant city that lies beneath.”
The film’s producer and director Suneel Darshan said: “Harrow has always been good to me. I have one of my main distributors there and it’s a great place with a diverse population. I’ve chosen to support good going because it’s an important initiative and is for the betterment of London, and anything that benefits London benefits my audience, myself as a visitor and the world.”
Harrow’s good going efforts were recently nominated for a Sustainable Transport Award and shortlisted as one of the three best boroughs in London. The good going – Barsaat promotion makes it Bollywood’s first ever film to tie in with a London-wide initiative that targets everyone living and working in the Capital. Barsaat releases on August 19th at cinemas nationwide.
