Aamir Khan was not the first Mangal Pandey!

Now this is something that we are sure will catch you unaware. Aamir Khan was not the first Mangal Pandey! Are you surprised? But yes, that is a fact. So who was the earlier Mangal Pandey? No it wasn’t any of the other Khans or anybody from the current brawny Bollywood brigade either. Any more guesses?
Ok let us spill the beans and let the cat out of the bag. The first Mangal Pandey was… was… was… Shatrughan Sinha. Yes you read it right; it was our very own Bihari babu Shatrughan Sinha. And no… we are not talking about Sinha as the original choice for the Ketan Mehta film.
Shatrughan Sinha actually played the character of Mangal Pandey in a film of the same name that released way back in 1982. The film directed by Harmesh Malhotra starred Parveen Babbi along with Kadar Khan and Ajit. Anu Malik had composed the music of that Mangal Pandey.
