On face-value, you’d expect SISKIYAAN to be another skin-fest, thanks to Neha Dhupia’s repertoire that includes films like JULIE and SHEESHA. But you are in for a surprise. SISKIYAAN stars Neha in a complete non-glamorous avatar. “The film is based on a real-life incident and we wanted to remain faithful to the subject,” Neha informs me.
“The film is set in Gujarat, post Godhra phase. We haven’t taken sides, we haven’t said what’s right and wrong. We want the moviegoer to think, that’s our motive at the end of the day,” director Ashwini Chaudhary informs.
Producer Guddu Dhanoa and director Ashwini Chaudhary belong to two different schools of film-making. While Dhanoa tilts towards hardcore commercial cinema, Chaudhary is more for realistic cinema. “But I’ve tried to tell a story keeping the commercial format in mind,” the talented director adds.
SISKIYAAN is slated for release on September 2.
