In conversation with Rohit Khilnani, Shriya Saran talks about returning as Nandini Salgaonkar in Drishyam: The Conclusion, the third and final chapter of the Hindi Drishyam franchise, releasing in cinemas on October 2, 2026. She looks back at the journey that began with the first Drishyam, meeting the cast and team for the first time and now returning to the same world after such a long and memorable journey.
Shriya opens up about her character Nandini, the women who wear what she describes as “invisible capes” every day, and the similarities and differences between Nandini and her own personality. She also recalls preparing for Drishyam after becoming a mother, including the eight-month period she had between delivering her baby and beginning the shoot, and how she prepared herself physically and emotionally for the role.
She discusses how Drishyam: The Conclusion is different from the Malayalam Drishyam 3, with a completely different script, and reflects on the significance of this being the final film in the Hindi franchise. Shriya also talks about working with Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat, sharing her experiences of collaborating with each of them and what she has learned from being part of such an ensemble.
Shriya also opens up about the responsibility she felt while returning to such an important character and why she was nervous about doing justice to Nandini. She recalls the final day on set and the emotions that came with knowing that this long chapter of her life was finally coming to an end.
