The sequel to the Ajay Devgn starrer Gangaajal has been on the cards for a while and recently filmmaker Prakash Jha confirmed that he will be making a second installment to the social drama which is a realistic take on the corrupt system. However, this time around the film will see a twist.

Unlike the prequel which was based on a male cop, this time around, an actress will turn protagonist of the film as we can see in the first look of the film. Gangaajal 2 is also said to be inspired by a real life story of a female cop in Madhya Pradesh. Though many actresses are being considered including the talented Kareena Kapoor Khan, the details are yet to be finalized.
