"Aamir Khan really deserves a coffee table book. Since I've been taking pictures of him right from the beginning of his career in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and with Satyamev Jayate he deserved a book," says reputed news photographer Pradeep Chandra about his coffee table book 'Aamir Khan: Actor, Activist, Achiever'. "I have spoken to Aamir about the book and will definitely send him the book as well but if he will acknowledge it as his official biography, I doubt it," Chandra says. The book documents Aamir Khan through his pictures over the years but it also has articles written by Narendra Kusnur (on music in Aamir's films), Mayank Shekhar (Aamir as an activist), senior journalist Rauf Ahmed has written an article on Aamir's filmography. Bollywood Hungama in this exclusive slideshow presents some notable pictures from Pradeep Chandra's book.
This picture was clicked on the sets of Dil Hai Ki Maata Nahin. I have a long association with Mahesh Bhatt and both the image, as well as the movie is my favourite.

The publicists of Sarafarosh suggested that a statue of Aamir should be made for promotions. A statue maker was hired but he cautioned that Aamir would have to stand for 4-5 hours while I make the statue. The publicists were naturally apprehensive. They suggested if they can provide his photos but the statue maker maintained that pictures won't do. Director John Mathew Matthan hesitatingly told Aamir about the statue. Aamir looked up, thought for a few moments and then coolly said that he had no qualms for standing for 4-5 hours while his statue was made. The picture was shot when he was getting his statue done.
I approached the producer of Dil, Ashok Thakeria, and asked him to lend me a few pictures. He readily agreed. This is the picture I selected as I found it really nice since it has a timeless romantic moment between Aamir and Madhuri.
This was clicked at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium and I used to work next door at The Indian Express. Somebody informed me about this shoot. I knew Dev Anand saab very well and he was friendly with everybody. The moment I reached the stadium, Dev saab welcomed me and graciously allowed me to take some stills. Aamir did have a bit of Dev Anand saab in him. This is especially evident in the film Mann.
This was clicked during the mahurat of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and features Aamir with a moustache. If I am not mistaken, Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu were also present at this memorable event.
