Pretty Aishwarya could well be the most paradoxical actor in the current generation. She may be one of the top paid film personalities today and may have been a part of the biggest money spinners of all times [Dhoom 2], but she still has to be recognized as someone who can actually act. With a blunder called The Mistress of Spices behind, her next international release Provoked has a lot in stake for her. Will she be able to impress her critics and junta this time around, especially in a role that has very little margin of error?
Not many have forgotten the initial era of Abhishek Bachchan when he worked mostly with his friends. Goldie Behl was one of them who made Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai with him and Rani Mukherjee, a pair that has become fashionable now. The film was good in the first half but the impact was diluted due to a below par second half. Now the director-actor pair returns with Drona, an ambitious subject which is supposed to belong to thriller/fantasy genre. What will the second time director have in the offering this time around?
Will Anurag Kashyap finally have a release to his name? Though the good news is that even his Black Friday is eventually gearing up for a February release, his No Smoking has aroused quite a lot of curiosity since Anurag has managed to rope in John Abraham for his film. The only question is, how would a film's narration sound which tells the tale of a protagonist who is a chain smoker and wants to quit smoking? An offbeat subject that would be great to watch if marketed and presented well!
A couple of decades after Ghayal made a Rambo out of Sunny Deol, young Tigmanshu Dhulia exudes confidence that he has it in him to make a sequel to the movie. Good going, except for the fact that loyal followers of Santoshi's Ghayal have been left wondering if there has been any scope left for a sequel, especially due to the fact that both reel and real life character of the film's main villain Amrish Puri are no more! It would be great if the director of Haasil is indeed able to pull it off!
