Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has reacted to the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai, describing it as a “never before seen phenomenon”. In his remarks, Varma drew attention to what he believes could be an unusual motive behind the attack, suggesting that the unidentified assailants may have been driven by “vanity and pride” rather than reasons typically associated with criminal shootings.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Varma wrote, “What happened with @iTIGERSHROFF is a never before seen phenomenon ..Instead of killings relating to extortion , contract murders , settlements etc , for the first time ever , they seem to be wanting to kill for vanity and pride😳😳😳”

Varma’s reaction comes amid an ongoing investigation into the shooting reported in Mumbai’s Juhu area on October 18. While the filmmaker has offered his interpretation of the possible motive, the police investigation into the incident is still underway, and the reason behind the attack has not been officially established.
What happened in the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff?
The incident reportedly took place on the evening of October 18, 2026, when Tiger Shroff was leaving a football ground in Juhu in his car. According to reports, unidentified men riding a motorcycle fired multiple rounds at the vehicle.
The actor escaped without sustaining any gunshot wounds. However, he suffered minor injuries from gunpowder and glass shards. Photographs taken later showed bandages on his arm, shoulder and chest. His driver and a bystander were also injured in the incident.
The shooting prompted an investigation by the Mumbai Police to identify those involved and establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Three suspects detained in Rajasthan, investigation continues
As the investigation progressed, three suspects were reportedly detained or arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, on October 19 while they were travelling by train. Reports have indicated that the suspects included individuals from Haryana and Bihar.
Meanwhile, claims circulating on social media have sought to link the incident to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. However, this alleged connection remains unverified by the police and should not be treated as an established fact.
The investigation is ongoing, with the motive behind the shooting yet to be officially confirmed.
