This was a week that could well have gone in anticipation of Padmavati, which was all set to release on December 1. While for many film lovers it has actually been quite disappointing to see the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film been pushed indefinitely, there is some good news for the fans of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
Two of their films, Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani, have re-released and with this the magic of Sanjay Leela Bhansali is back too. The films are running at select PVR properties across the country and for now audiences can catch them in the current week at the least.
Both films were major successes at the box office and that further prompted the hit trio of Bhansali, Ranveer and Deepika to come together again for Padmavati. While one waits to see when does their labour of love arrive on the big screen, at least their earlier work can be relived in theatres, what with the event been termed as ‘Return of Blockbusters’ for the duration of November 24th to 30th.
This initiative has been made possible by Eros Now which holds the rights for not just Ram Lela and Bajirao Mastani but also blockbuster Tanu Weds Manu Returns and cult success Rockstar which enjoys a following of its own. Each of these films has been re-released as well, which means audiences can catch the escapades of Kangana Ranaut and Madhavan in the Aanand L. Rai directed flick and also relive the pain that Ranbir Kapoor went through in Imtiaz Ali‘s sufi saga Rockstar.
Well, a good move indeed since theatres are practically running empty currently and the coming back of Ranveer, Deepika, Kangana, Madhavan and Ranbir on the big screen is only going to make the situation better.
