This week the audience is certainly spoilt for choice with the release of multiple films. One is the much talked about and highly promoted Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson starrer SINGH IS BLIING, the other being the highly controversial Irrfan Khan starrer TALWAR and the third is a fantasy drama PULI. Apart from these there is also the Hollywood sci-fi release THE MARTIAN directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ridley Scott.
Living upto expectations, the Prabhu Dheva directed SINGH IS BLIING has emerged as the leader from the pack garnering approximately 80% occupancy rate during morning shows. On the other hand, TALVAR that features relatively fewer morning shows has recorded 25% occupancy rate. However, PULI apart from featuring a very limited release in Hindi, and not featuring morning shows in certain territories, has opening a sluggish note.
Despite featuring a good opening SINGH IS BLIING that has garnered mixed response from the critics will have to rely of the audiences' verdict to grow strong over the weekend. On the other hand, TALWAR that has received glowing reviews from the critics is expected to pick up, though on a slower note. PULI, on the other hand looks bleak. THE MARTIAN will click mainly in cities with the multiplex audiences.
