This week we see the release of the sequel to the 2003 Ajay Devgn starrer GANGAAJAL, featuring Priyanka Chopra. The film directed by Prakash Jha, JAI GANGAAJAL that featured hardly any promotions seems to have tough road ahead. But with little to no competition from other releases will the film manage to post a good tally at the box office is the question.
Reports suggest that JAI GANGAAJAL has opened to a slow start with occupancy rates being pegged at approximately 15% during morning shows, despite this week's other release ZUBAAN featuring no morning shows.
With such a bleak start JAI GANGAAJAL will have to rely on positive reviews and strong word of mouth to post decent figures. On the other hand ZUBAAN that has received mixed reviews is likely to show some improvement with time, while the Hollywood release LONDON HAS FALLEN will pick up over evening and night shows.
