With National Cinema Day boosting the collections on the opening day (Friday), Yudhra saw a drop on Saturday. This was on the expected lines as well since the ticket prices went up to normal and then a substantial part of the opening weekend audience had already watched the film on Friday. The key was that the drop doesn’t turn out to be so heavy that the momentum just can’t be gained in days to follow.
From that perspective, it would have helped if the collections had stayed in Rs. 2.50-3 crores zone. The numbers came lower though at Rs. 2 crores* and now it has to be seen if some momentum comes today. The film is not without competition though as Stree 2 is still running quite strong and then there is Tumbbad, which is finding its own audience and is the second choice of the audience. Still, this one is the latest release and one just hopes that Bollywood gets a new film also to find some audience in theatres. The two day collections of Yudhra stand at Rs. 6.52 crores*.
Meanwhile, Tumbbad is going strong with Rs. 2.50 crores more coming on Saturday. The first Saturday had seen Rs. 2.65 crores being accumulated at the box office and now the second Saturday is not too far off. The collections have been quite consistent for the film and looking at the trend, on Sunday the film will cross Rs. 3 crores again and build on top of Rs. 18.98 crores that it has gathered so far.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
