Yudhra did well on Friday as quite a few shows, especially in the evening and night, went houseful for the film. It’s always a pleasant sight to witness full houses for a film, especially when it’s not a star driven affair, and that makes it all the more heartening for Yudhra. A film like this needs all the push on the very first day so that word of mouth can be generated and then it can do well on the basis of content and entertainment it has to offer. Hence, it’s indeed a blessing when the release is timed with an event like National Cinema Day, which provides all the right impetus to a film.
This is what happened in case of this Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer that made the most of the reduced ticket price of just Rs. 99 and resulted in theatres seeing very good footfalls. As much as Rs. 4.52 crores came for the film on the very first day and now what it needs to do is build upon the feedback that has been generated. If it somehow comes close to Rs. 3 crores mark today, then that would be a stage and platform set for it to keep bringing in audiences. At the very least it would need to stay on top of Rs. 2.50 crores at least so that it can then get some momentum again on Sunday.
The genre of the film is similar to Kill though that one was rustic and rooted while this is stylish and urban. In a way, this brings it more in the zone of Crackk. That film too had opened around the same lines as Rs. 4 crores but then couldn’t recover as Saturday had come to Rs. 2.32 crores (which was still okay) but then Sunday had sealed the fate as it went down further to Rs. 2.30 crores. Hopefully, Yudhra will show better trajectory and end up doing better at the box office.
