The Hrithik Roshan – Tiger Shroff starrer War released yesterday across 4000 screens in the domestic market. Being one of the most talked about and keenly anticipated releases of the year, expectations were that the film would take a flying start. And thanks to the good advance bookings, War, has managed to not only live up to but to exceed expectations as well.

Collecting a staggering Rs. 53.35 cr War, has managed to out beat the collections of the Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan that had collected Rs. 52.25 cr to become the highest all-time opening day grosser till date. If that wasn’t all, the Day 1 collections of War has recorded better collections than certain other releases as well like, Happy New Year that collected Rs. 44.97 cr, Bharat that collected Rs. 42.30 cr, Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that collected Rs. 41 cr, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo that collected Rs. 40.35 cr, Sultan that collected Rs. 36.54 cr, Dhoom 3 that collected Rs. 36.22 cr, Sanju that collected Rs. 34.75 cr, and Tiger Zinda Hai that collected Rs. 34.10 cr.
Currently, War that enjoys an extended five day weekend is expected to dominate the box office, especially since the film faces little competition from other releases. In fact, it won’t come as a surprise if the business of War crosses the Rs. 100 cr mark in the next couple of days. Now, all that remains to be seen is whether the Hrithik Roshan – Tiger Shroff starrer goes on to become one of the highest grossing films as well.
