The much talked about keenly anticipated, and heavily promoted Salman Khan – Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3 hit screens on Sunday. Coming as the third instalment in the hit Tiger franchise, expectations of the film were at an all-time high. In fact, post the success of previous releases like Jawan and Pathaan earlier this year, the audience and trade have been awaiting the release of Tiger 3 with bated breath. Living up to the expectations, the business of Tiger 3 started off on a thunderous note, drawing in a staggering Rs. 43 cr. on its opening day. Following this, on its second day running, the business of the film saw an increase with Rs. 58 cr. coming in.
Interestingly, while the total nett collections of Tiger 3 have managed to cross the Rs. 100 cr. mark in just 2 days, the collections of the film have managed to set a new benchmark record. Collecting Rs. 58 cr. from the Hindi version and a further Rs. 1.25 cr. from the dubbed versions Tiger 3 managed to rake in Rs. 59.25 cr. on its first Monday in theatres. With a nett collection nearly touching the Rs. 60 cr. mark, Tiger 3 has emerged as the highest first Monday grosser in the history of Hindi cinema.
Currently, Tiger 3 continues to roar in theatres with its collections raking in the moolah. In fact, trade predictions state that the business of Tiger 3 is certain to see an increase in collections with each passing day.
