Sooryavanshi has continued with its fantastic run at the box-office as the film has collected approx. Rs. 1.50 cr. on the fourth Saturday. The 23 day total collection of this Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty film stands at Rs. 187 crore, and given the trend so far, it still stands a chance to enter the coveted 200 crore club.
The cop saga has emerged the first hit film since the release of Tanhaji in January 2020 and the fact that it continues to do well at the box office despite opposition from new releases, suggests acceptance from the audience. The film is running a race of its own and given the way newer films have fared, and the increase in fear of rise in Covid cases again, there is a high chance for Sooryavanshi to emerge the highest grossing film of 2021.
If it happens, it would be the first for Akshay Kumar in his illustrous career. The only competition to this film is Ranveer Singh's 83. Maharashtra and Gujarat have continued to be the top scoring circuits for Sooryavanshi and the film has set some extraordinary records in these 2 territories. The fourth Saturday figure is the 20th highest of all time, and this happening in middle of pandemic is a commendable feat.
Sooryavanshi will be remembered in the history books for being the first Hindi film to revive theatrical biz in a big way.
