The pan India phenomenon, RRR has collected Rs. 21 to 22 crore in the Hindi belts on Sunday to take the ten day total to Rs. 186 crore. The SS Rajamouli directed epic is now on its course to cross the Rs. 200 crore club and emerge the 2nd highest grossing film in the pandemic times in the Hindi belts by surpassing Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi with Akshay Kumar in lead.
The movie saw an upward swing in business across the board on Sunday, to pose a solid 2nd weekend total of Rs. 53 crore plus. The business would have been higher on Saturday and Sunday, but the mass belts slowed down a little due to the Ramadan factor as the Muslim audience don't step out to watch cinema.
The movie is now chasing the total collections of The Kashmir Files to emerge the biggest grossing film of pandemic and the trend so far suggests that it will zoom past the lifetime figure of The Kashmir Files by the end of its run. RRR has emerged as the second 200 crore earner for director SS Rajamouli in the Hindi belts and the first for both, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan.
The movie has been accepted by audiences across the board - be it masses or classes - and it's on its course to be one of the biggest success stories for a film featuring two relatively fresh faces. The run can also be credited to the sheer brand value of SS Rajamouli, who in today's time is the biggest director of Indian cinema.
