The SS Rajamouli directed film RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR was released a while back. After opening on a high note the business of the film witnessed immense growth in collections with each passing day. Now at the close of its third week in theatres, RRR which also features Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn has managed to draw in a further Rs. 35.20 cr.
In this box office report, we look at the third-week collections of RRR while comparing the same to previous releases that have made it this far. Not surprisingly, RRR ranks as the seventh all-time highest third-week grosser. In fact, the business of the film has managed to surpass previous releases like Padmaavat which collected Rs. 31.75 cr, Sanju which collected Rs. 31.62 cr and the recently released Vivek Agnihotri directorial The Kashmir Files which had collected Rs. 30.95 cr.
On the other hand, however, the third-week collections of RRR do not surpass certain other releases like Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, Dangal, PK, Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior, Uri – The Surgical Strike, and Kabir Singh.
Going forward, with the release of the much-talked-about film KGF – Chapter 2 occupying a major chunk of screens, the business of RRR has seen a massive drop. While trade estimates that the film will see collections trickling in over the weekend, it will be a far cry from the previous weeks.
