The SS Rajamouli directorial RRR that was released a while back has proved to be unstoppable at the box office. After a thunderous start, the business of the Ram Charan – Jr. NTR starrer maintained its hold over the audience well into its second week. Now on its third weekend running, the film has managed to post good collection yet again, taking its overall collection to Rs. 231.59 cr.
In this box office report, we look at the third-weekend collections of RRR while comparing the same to previous releases that have made it this far. Collecting Rs. 23 cr on weekend three, RRR has managed to become the sixth all-time highest third weekend grosser. In fact, the business of the film surpasses the third weekend business of the recently released film The Kashmir Files which had collected Rs. 20.85 cr. Besides this, RRR has also managed to out beat the collections of other releases like Kabir Singh which collected Rs. 22.52 cr, Sanju that collected Rs. 21.46 cr, Bajirao Mastani that collected Rs. 20.50 cr.
Going forward with the Yash starrer KGF – Chapter 2 slated to hit screens, the business of Rajamouli’s RRR is expected to take a hit. However, trade predictions state that despite the new release taking up a major chunk of screens, the business of RRR will continue to trickle in.
