It’s a century for Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film was always expected to cross the Rs. 100 crores mark at the very least and even though the opening day number of Rs. 11.10 crores cast a bit of a doubt in the mind of the pessimists, the inherent entertainment quotient that was in the offering made one sure that over a period of time this feat would be accomplished.

Well, the good part is that this feat has been accomplished sooner than later, what with the Rs. 100 crores mark been reached in 10 days flat. Yes, the first weekend was good at Rs. 45.90 crores but still a lot depended on how the weekdays would turn out to be as that was always going to be a deciding factor on how quick the century mark would be reached. Well, with the weekdays staying on to be in Rs. 6-7 crores range right though and then the second Friday too being good, it was a given that an entry into the Rs. 100 Crore Club would take place by Sunday itself.

That’s exactly what has happened, what with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani earning Rs. 13.50 crores more on Sunday, which is quite good. That has pushed the total of this romantic family drama to 105.08 crores and there is more moolah that will get added during the weekdays. Had it enjoyed an open run like Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Satyaprem Ki Katha then a much bigger lifetime haul would have been on the cards. However as of now, a total in excess of Rs. 145 crores is on the cards and that would be at par total for a biggie like this.
