Resident Evil saw its collections moderate on Wednesday as the Hollywood horror release collected Rs. 1.18 crore on Day 6. The latest figure takes its India total to approximately Rs. 13.02 crore.
The Wednesday business represents a 28.05% drop from Tuesday, when the film had collected Rs. 1.64 crore. The decline comes after the film had shown a recovery on its first Tuesday, reversing the sharp correction witnessed on Monday.
Resident Evil opened with Rs. 2.18 crore on Friday before registering a strong 44.04% jump on Saturday, when it collected Rs. 3.14 crore. Sunday brought a marginal 2.23% decline, with the film adding Rs. 3.07 crore, taking its opening weekend total to Rs. 8.78 crore.
Monday saw collections fall 53.75% to Rs. 1.42 crore, but Tuesday brought a 15.49% recovery to Rs. 1.64 crore. Bollywood Hungama had also reported 3,649 shows across 1,677 venues on Tuesday, with overall occupancy at 14.85%.
With Wednesday's Rs. 1.18 crore taking the cumulative India collection to around Rs. 13.02 crore, the film has now crossed the Rs. 13 crore mark. The focus will now be on how the horror film performs as it approaches its first weekend after completing its opening week.
