The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal which hit screens last week on Friday, has proved to be unstoppable. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial starring Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna opened to a thunderous response from the audience drawing in a massive Rs. 54.75 cr. from its Hindi version alone on day 1. Following this the business of Animal, which also saw dubbed versions of the film hit screens has steadily seen growth each day over its opening weekend. In fact, Animal managed to cross the Rs. 100 cr. and Rs. 200 cr. mark in record time.
Now after just five days at the box office, Animal has managed to cross the Rs. 250 cr. mark with the collections from its Hindi version alone. Drawing in a further Rs. 34.02 cr. on its first Tuesday, Animal has collected Rs. 250.66 cr. from its Hindi release. Added to this, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer saw its dubbed versions draw in another Rs. 3.80 cr. on Tuesday, taking its 5-day cumulative box office total closer to the Rs. 300 cr mark with Rs. 284.05 cr. being registered.
Interestingly, with the stellar business of Animal the film has now emerged as the second fastest Hindi release to cross the Rs. 250 cr. mark, a position the Ranbir Kapoor starrer shares with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan. While Jawan that managed to cross Rs. 250 cr in four days of its release tops the charts, Animal has performed better than releases like Gadar 2 which took 6 days, KGF – Chapter 2 which took 7 days, Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion which took 8 days and even Dangal, Sanju and Tiger Zinda Hai which took 10 days each to cross the Rs. 250 cr mark.
Currently, Animal continues its box office march with audience patronizing the film in droves. In fact, over its opening weekend the film witnessed multiple locations adding more shows, some as early as 5 am to accommodate audience demand. Given this trend, trade predictions state that the business of Animal will see further growth over the coming days. In fact, it will come as no surprise if the business of Animal crosses the Rs. 300 cr mark by the end of its first week running.
