With no competition from any new film this weekend, courtesy postponement of Jersey; each of the three biggies in the running would benefit to some extent. Of course Delhi not allowing theatres to operate is a spanner in the plans and would impact collections to a good degree, especially during the New Year season when footfalls are better, one has to take the best from what’s available.
In the single screens at the mass belt, Pushpa (Hindi) is keeping the footfalls coming and in the process breathed life back in for many cinema owners. That should continue for this week as well and help take it past Rs. 47.09 crores that it has already accumulated so far. However on Friday arrives RRR and since the film is the biggest one arriving since Baahubali: The Conclusion and SS Rajamouli seemingly in great form again, there would be slowdown felt for Pushpa.
In fact, with 83 displaying a downward trend at the box office, Pushpa looks set to enjoy another good weekend in theatres.
