The Siddharth Anand directorial Pathaan, starring Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, and John Abraham was released a day ago. Produced by Yash Raj Films, the venture faced quite a bit of opposition in the run-up to its release, however with the protests dying down, Pathaan looked set to enjoy a money-spinning run at the box office. living up to these expectations, Pathaan started on a thunderous note, with critics and audience hailing the film. In fact, the film managed to rake in a massive Rs. 57 cr on its opening day from its Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions. Now, on its second day running Pathaan has set another box office benchmark.
As per reports, Pathaan that released across 5500 screens in the domestic market has managed to draw in a whopping Rs. 68 cr on its second day. With this, the total collections of the film are now pegged at Rs. 123 cr! When compared to Deepika Padukone’s previous releases, Pathaan has now become her ninth release to cross the Rs. 100 cr mark. If that was not enough, while Pathaan now joins Deepika's previous releases like Happy New Year, Padmaavat, Chennai Express, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and others in the coveted Rs. 100 cr club, it ranks her fastest film to achieve this in just two days of its release.
Currently, Pathaan continues to run to packed theatres across the country. In fact, trade predictions state that with the five-day extended weekend, Pathaan is sure to cross the Rs. 200 cr mark by the end of its opening weekend.
