The Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan finally hit screens yesterday. Being one of the most anticipated and keenly awaited releases the film comes with immense hope and expectations. After the protests have died down, the advance booking for the film leapfrogged displaying the audience interest in the film. In fact, going by the advances, Pathaan was expected to open on a thunderous note.
Now reports state that the film has in fact opened on a high note. Released across 5500 screens in the domestic market Pathaan has managed to collect Rs. 57 cr (Hindi Rs. 55 cr + Tamil & Telugu Rs. 2 cr) on its opening day. With this, the film has started the tally at the box office for Bollywood with a bang. If that was not enough, with the film releasing in multiple languages, expectations are that the business of the film will see further increase.
Currently, Pathaan is expected to dominate the box office window. With the audience demand, increasing it comes as no surprise that nearly 300 shows with mid-night shows were added. In fact, going by the trend, trade estimates that Pathaan will continue to see growth in business and could even cross the Rs. 100 cr mark by the end of its second day running.
