The much talked about Kartik Aaryan – Sara Ali Khan starrer Love Aaj Kal released yesterday to mixed reviews. But, thanks to the immense promotions and the good spate of advance bookings, the Imtiaz Ali directorial opened on a good note.
In this box office report, we take a look at the opening day collections of Love Aaj Kal while comparing the same to previous releases of 2020. Collecting Rs. 12.40 cr, Love Aaj Kal has managed to out beat the business of the Varun Dhawan – Shraddha Kapoor starrer Street Dancer 3D that had collected Rs. 9.50 cr to become the second highest opening day grosser of 2020.
In fact, the opening day business of Love Aaj Kal has also managed to surpass the business of other releases as well like, Malang that collected Rs. 6.71 cr, Chhapaak that collected Rs. 4.77 cr, Jawaani Jaaneman that collected Rs. 3.24 cr, and Panga that had collected Rs. 2.70 cr.
Now, though Love Aaj Kal still continues to draw in the audience on account of the Valentine’s Day weekend, it remains to be seen whether the film manages to withstand the Monday test.
