The Vivek Agnihotri directed Anupam Kher starrer The Kashmir Files released last week on Friday has been unstoppable at the box office. After opening on a decent note, the business of the film took off with each passing day seeing an increase in collections. Now on its sixth day running, The Kashmir Files has managed to draw in a further Rs. 19.05 cr.
In this box office report, we take a look at the first Wednesday collections of The Kashmir Files while comparing the same to films that have been released in theatres post the pandemic. Collecting a staggering Rs. 19.05 cr, The Kashmir Files has surpassed the Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi that had collected Rs. 9.55 cr to become the highest first Wednesday grosser among the post-pandemic releases. Besides Sooryavanshi, The Kashmir Files has also out-performed other releases like the Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi that collected Rs. 6.21 cr and the Ranveer Singh starrer 83 that collected Rs. 5.67 cr.
As of now, The Kashmir Files enjoys the audiences’ favour still continues to run to packed houses. In fact, trade predictions state that the business of the film is likely to see further growth in collections over its second weekend in theatres. If the film continues with the current momentum, estimates claim that it could well go past the Rs. 120 cr mark by the end of its second weekend.
