The industry can rejoice. While Gangubai Kathiawadi set the stage for the box office to start ringing all over again post the third wave, it's The Kashmir Files that is taking forward the momentum, and that too in a monumental way. This can well be seen from the fact that the film had a tremendous Monday of Rs. 15.05 crores, something that no one, just no one could see coming. In fact, many believed that this could well be the lifetime score of the film, and here it's collecting as much on a single day, which pretty much tells the tale.
On Sunday, the film had collected Rs. 15.10 crores and now Monday is Rs. 15.05 crores, which is truly an unheard-of phenomenon. Frankly, no one in the industry, trade, or even those associated with the film could have imagined that this is how the film will behave. However, this is indeed happening in front of our eyes, and all that we can do is marvel at the success of this Vivek Agnihotri-directed film.
The film is now set to have the best Week One collections of 2022 as it will comfortably go past Gangubai Kathiawadi which had collected Rs. 68.93 crores in its first week. The manner in which The Kashmir Files is currently going, this number would be surpassed before the close of Thursday and in fact even Rs. 70 crores mark would be crossed with ease. The film is a bonafide blockbuster and now it has to be seen how much further does it go from here.
