Even though there was this all-important India v/s Sri Lanka Asia Cup finals match on Sunday, the collections didn’t get much impacted since it got over in a jiffy. Jawan did manage spectacular collections and brought in Rs. 37 crores* more (including the south versions) and that's simply tremendous. To think of it, the collections could well have been Rs. 2-4 crores higher, if not for the Sunday match, so what Jawan has done here is truly amazing.
This has also pushed the overall collections past the Rs. 450 crores mark as the film now stands at Rs. 479.73 crores* and that too in just 11 days. That's an average of over Rs. 40 crores per day ever since its release, a feat that's simply magical and also sets the stage for biggies like Tiger 3 and Dunki to emulate in months to come. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer is now also set to be the fastest ever to enter Rs. 500 Crore Club across all languages as the feat should be accomplished by Wednesday, if not Tuesday itself. That would mean a record created in just 13 or 14 days.
Pathaan (all languages) had taken 22 days to enter the Rs. 500 Crore Club whereas Gadar 2 had taken just a day more to reach there in 23 days. However, Jawan would be much quicker by a margin of more than a week, which shows how much potential box office has for the Hindi films. The Hindi version though would take some time to cross the Rs. 500 crores mark and I will talk about that as well as the film reaches closer to that. Pathaan had taken 28 days to reach there, and Jawan will chase it down as well to accomplish a better feat.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
