Gadar 2 Box Office Estimate Day 1: A record opening in clash scenario on non-holiday; collects Rs. 41 crores :Bollywood Box Office

The Sunny Deol starrer Gadar: The Katha Continues has recorded a bumper start at the box office in India as early estimates indicate an opening day in the range of Rs. 40 to 43 crores. The film has surpassed all expectations and done something that was not expected by even the most optimistic people in the film fraternity. In-fact, Gadar 2 has topped the expectations of Zee Studios and Anil Sharma too, who had predicted a start around the Rs. 30 crore mark.

Gadar 2 has recorded houseful boards all across – be it multiplexes or single screens – and has in fact gone ahead to create new records at several non-national chains. The film has recorded bigger occupancy than Pathaan all across the board, and if not for the clash, the first-day business had a shot at Rs. 60 crores. The three national chains, PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – have collected in the range of Rs. 14.50 crores, amounting to 35 percent of the total collections.

Gadar 2 also faced capacity issues at the cinema halls, especially in the non-national chains and there will be a big spillover of audience over the coming seven days. The three-day business of Gadar 2 is expected to be around Rs. 120 crores and the five-day extended weekend will be in the range of Rs. 175 crores.

The word of mouth seems to be positive and hence sky will be the limit for Gadar 2 as far as lifetime collection are concerned. The opening, the euphoria, and the content have given a smell of a blockbuster to the Hindi Film Industry and all that we need to see now is how big a blockbuster.
