When The Kashmir Files had released earlier this year, it had grown from strength to strength with every passing day, and eventually concluded its first week at Rs. 97.30 crores. It had in fact missed the Rs. 100 crores mark by just a whisker though had more than compensated for that in days to follow with a quick-fire Rs. 200 Crore Club entry.
Well, while one waits to see if and when Drishyam 2 scores a double century (though indications are all there), at least when it comes to scoring a century, it is set to do that at a better pace. In fact, it should go past the Rs. 100 crores mark on Thursday and that has been made possible with an excellent Sunday when Rs. 27.17 crores more came in. That has pushed the film’s total to Rs. 64.14 crores which is stupendous and also the second best weekend for a Bollywood film in 2022 after Brahmastra.
Another film in the running is Uunchai and that’s somehow managing to battle it out. On Sunday, the film grew further to Rs. 2.87 crores mark and while a higher number would have made the run even better, the fact that the Sooraj Barjatya directed affair is still battling it out is good as well. Otherwise, there have been countless films in 2022 that have simply failed to survive their second week and some have just given up after 10 days. Here, the film, which has collected Rs. 23.62 crores so far, is at least setting up base to stay in contention for the third week as well when it would face competition again, this time from Bhediya.
