Ayushmann Khurranna's Dream Girl was excellent on Sunday as collections were quite good at Rs. 11.05 crores. The film was always expected to fetch these kinds of numbers in the second weekend, especially after the kind of hold that it demonstrated on Friday. The Raaj Shaandilyaa directed film is pretty much behaving like a new release even in its second weekend with its collections being better than what many mid-size films manage in their first weekend.
The film has now touched Rs. 97.65 crores and if it continues to maintain such good momentum, there is an outside chance of the 100 Crore Club being reached today itself. On its second Friday, the film had collected Rs. 5.30 crores so the Monday numbers would need to show minimal drop when compared to that.
The Ekta Kapoor production has picked up such fantabulous pace despite Chhichhore doing so well at the box office. It is indeed a good time for the industry to see so many worthy films actually manage to find such fabulous response and catching audience fancy. One now waits to see the kind of distance that the film eventually manages to cover till the arrival of War.
