After a surprise opening day with collections of Rs 3.06 crore, the Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor starring horror comedy, Roohi, has shown a marginal drop at the box-office with collections in the range of Rs. 1.90 to 2.10 crore. The film has held decently in the mass centres, where the drop in collections came in the morning shows, but started to gather momentum towards the noon and evening. UP, Bihar and Delhi were nearly neck to neck with the opening day which is a positive sign for Roohi.
The major drop has come in the metros where the working day impact was visible. While the film got back to the Thursday levels towards Friday evening, the drop in morning came due to multiple factors – the mixed reports, the working day factor as also increased Covid cases across the country on a day-to-day basis. There lies a chance for the film to breach past the Rs.2.20 crore mark on day two, but it all depends on how the late-night shows fare at the national chains. A drop as compared to Thursday is expected even in the night shows due to the India vs England T20 match.
Like the day one, PVR, INOX and Cinepolis have contributed over 50% to the total showbiz of the film, and the two-day total now stands around the Rs. 5 crore mark. While it would be difficult to predict a trend for Saturday and Sunday due to not so good reports and Covid, it would be a good result if the film manages to touch the double-digit mark through the four day run.
