The Saket Chaudhary directorial Hindi Medium released in China a week ago. Starring Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar, the film has been enjoying a stellar run at the China box office. After opening with a bang in this market, the film which enjoyed an extended weekend has fast been climbing the box office charts. Now just a week later, the business of Hindi Medium at the China box office has managed to cross the Rs. 150 cr mark.
Collecting USD 1.20 million [Rs. 7.81 cr] more on Day 7, the total collections of Hindi Medium at the China box office are now pegged at a massive USD 23.82 million [Rs. 155.10 cr]. Interestingly, while Hindi Medium has, like its predecessors that released in China viz. Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dangal, and Secret Superstar, witnessed an incremental growth in business as the days progress, managing to surpass other Hollywood and local releases even.
However, given the fact that Hindi Medium unlike the previous releases hit screens in China on Wednesday, the business of the film is expected to grow further over the coming weekend. In fact, going by current trends, the business of Hindi Medium looks set to reach the Rs. 180 cr mark at the close in its second weekend at the China box office.
