The much talked about Ranveer Singh – Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani is all set to release next week on Friday. Marking the directorial return of Karan Johar, the film promises to be a fun-filled family entertainer has been making headlines. In fact, the cast of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani is busy promoting the venture across the country with city visits and on-ground events. Made on a budget of Rs. 160 cr. with a further Rs. 18 cr. on print & publicity the total Cost of Production (CoP) of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani contrary to the ridiculous speculations in media, is pegged at Rs. 178 cr. Though the film is slated to hit screens next week on Friday, the makers have already recovered nearly 90% of their initial investment! With Rs. 80 cr. coming in from the sale of the digital rights to Amazon Prime Video, a further Rs. 50 cr. from the sale of the satellite rights to Colors, and another Rs. 30 cr. coming from the sale of its music rights to Saregama, the makers of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani have already raked in Rs. 160 cr.
Given that the film has already earned Rs. 160 cr. out of its Rs. 178 cr. CoP, the film needs to do approx. Rs. 45-48 cr. of theatrical business to break even. Given the hype around the movie, the break-even point will be reached in the opening weekend itself.
As of now, trade predictions and estimates state that Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani will be a highly profitable venture in its final tally.
