The Varun Dhawan – Banita Sandhu starrer October hit screens on Friday last week. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film took off on a sluggish note, but with critical acclaim it witnessed a good jump in collections over the weekend.
In this box office report, we take a look at the opening weekend collections of October while comparing the same to previous releases of 2018. Collecting Rs. 20.25 cr October claims the sixth spot on the list of highest opening weekend grosser of 2018 managing to surpass previous releases like Hichki that collected Rs. 15.35 cr, Pari that collected Rs. 15.34 cr, and Hate Story IV that collected Rs. 12.57 cr.
However, the collections of October do not manage to out beat certain other releases like Padmaavat that collected Rs. 114 cr, Baaghi 2 that collected Rs. 73.10 cr, Raid that collected Rs. 41.01 cr, Pad Man that collected Rs. 40.05 cr and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety that collected Rs. 26.57 cr. Now all that remains to be seen is whether October manages to retain the momentum over the ensuing weekday to become one of the highest opening week grossers of 2018.
