The Rohit Shetty directed film Simmba starring Ranveer Singh released last week on Friday. The film which hit a total of 4020 screens in the domestic market opened on a decent note. But with positive reviews and strong word of mouth the business of Simmba saw immense growth on its second and third day in theatres.
In this box office report we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Simmba while comparing the same to Ranveer Singh’s previous releases. Collecting a massive Rs. 75.11 cr on its opening weekend Simmba has managed to become Ranveer’s second highest opening weekend grosser. Though unable to surpass the opening weekend collections of his previous release Padmaavat that had collected Rs. 114 cr, Simmba has still out beaten Ranveer Singh’s other releases like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela that collected Rs. 52.75 cr, Bajirao Mastani that collected Rs. 46.77 cr, Gunday that collected Rs. 43.93 cr, Dil Dhadkne Do that had collected Rs. 10.53 cr, Befikre that collected Rs. 34.43 cr, and Kill Dil that collected Rs. 20.18 cr.
With the audience in full swing New Year holiday mode and no competition from previous releases the business of Simmba is expected to roar over the coming few days. In fact, expectations are that the collections of Simmba will cross the Rs. 100 cr mark within the next couple of days.
