The Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju released two weeks ago. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film, which is based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt, has been doing stellar business since its release. Now after a nearly unstoppable and unopposed run at the box office for the past two week, Sanju sees competition coming in from the new releases.
But away from predictions, in this box office report, we take a look at the second week collections of Sanju while comparing the same to previously released films. Collecting Rs. 92.67 cr in its second week, Sanju has managed to surpass the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan that had collected Rs. 87.63 cr in its second week to claim the fourth spot on the all-time highest second week grossers list. Though the list is firmly led by Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion that had collected Rs. 143.25 cr, Dangal that had collected Rs. 115.96 cr, and PK that collected Rs. 95.78 cr, Sanju does manage to fare better than other releases like Tiger Zinda Hai that collected Rs. 85.51 cr, Padmaavat that collected Rs. 69.50 cr, and Dhoom 3 that collected Rs. 68.33 cr.
If that wasn’t all, reports state that despite the new releases hitting screens, Sanju still continues to remain as the audiences’ first choice. With this, expectations are that the film is more than likely to cross the Rs. 300 cr mark at the box office.
