After a massive three week run at the box office, the Aamir Khan - Anushka Sharma starrer PK was reined in by the new release Tevar. The film has opened to an average response at the box office with the film collecting Rs. 7 crores on the opening day.
In this box office report we take a look at the Opening Day collections of Tevar as compared to the previous releases of both Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha. For Arjun, Tevar becomes the third highest Opening day grosser failing to beat his previous releases, which is Gunday that collected Rs. 16.12 crores and 2 States that collected Rs. 12.42 crores.
On the other hand, for Sonakshi Sinha, Tevar did average business compared to her other releases, acquiring the ninth position. The actress' highest grossing film till date remains to be the Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 2 that collected Rs. 21.10 crores. However, Tevar does manage to surpass films like Lootera that collected Rs. 5.15 crores and Joker that collected Rs. 5 crores.
